Special flights requests

In the vicinity of Lugano Airport, where Skyguide provides Air Traffic Control services, drone (UAS) flights require Skyguide approval in particular when:

• Inside the airport perimeter (SAIP/PSIA) – any UAS, at any height
• Within 5 km of the runway – UAS > 250 g (including payload), at any height
• Outside 5 km but within the CTR:

• • • UAS (other than model aircraft) > 250 g above 120 m AGL
    • Model aircraft > 250 g above 150 m AGL

Approval requests must be submitted via the Skyguide SFO online tool or, where applicable, via the Swiss U-Space applications as described on the Skyguide website: https://www.skyguide.ch/services/special-flights
