Christian Castelli, hired as the new chief operating officer of Lugano Airport

22.02.2024 – The Municipality of Lugano has hired Christian Castelli as the new Chief Operating Officer of Lugano Airport. The person concerned will start professional activity in the short term, already in the coming months. 

Christian Castelli, a Swiss citizen born in Grenchen and raised in Sonvico, born in 1973, graduated in 2001 in Economics of Public Administrations and International Institutions at Bocconi University in Milan; in 2006 he obtained a Master in Business Administration from the Copenhagen Business School. Mr. Castelli has twenty years of experience in the managerial field at the United Nations Organization, holding various positions of responsibility in international missions. 

Christian Castelli will initially work alongside Davide Pedrioli, who will currently remain General Manager of Lugano Airport (CEO) and responsible for strategic direction and relations with municipal, cantonal and federal authorities, as well as the gradual introduction of Christian Castelli in his duties as Chief Operating Officer.  The City Hall congratulates Christian Castelli and wishes him full success and satisfaction in his new professional challenge.
